Roy Barnes Information Technology Program
|The Black Data Processing Associates Greater Philadelphia Chapter (BDPA) sponsors the Roy Barnes Information Technology Program (RBITP) annually. This computer training program is geared to students in grades 8 – 11. The goal of the National BDPA organization is to have all local chapters sponsor a computer-learning program and train a student team to compete in the National BDPA High School Computer Competition, at the National BDPA Conference.The Roy Barnes Information Technology Program provides an environment where students have an opportunity to learn on an academic level similar to the many athletic programs that are typically available. This program provides an opportunity for students to utilize their academic and technical skills and to display their creative talents. This program fosters the development of self-esteem, self-confidence, leadership skills and a greater sense of teamwork and responsibility.
